Dental assisting credentials vary by state and confuse a lot of applicants. Here's what the common ones mean.

• RDA — Registered Dental Assistant (state board, e.g. California)
• DANB CDA — Certified Dental Assistant (national)
• RHS — Radiation Health & Safety, often required to take x-rays
